As we sat and talked we were reminded of how many times God has stepped into our lives and provided a miracle. This blog will be the opportunity for us to write these down for the next generation, and hopefully inspire you in your walk with God. Come by every Tuesday for a new post.

Angels? Not Accidentally #5

It was 1975 and I was  4 months pregnant with our first child.

My husband was in the Army and had been sent to Germany. I was staying with my parents until he found an apartment for us.  Finally an apartment was found and I was on my way.  My first airplane ride! The flight stopped in Ohio, changing planes in New York then off to Frankfurt.

The flight...
When we landed in Ohio there was something wrong with the defroster on the windows of the plane and our flight was delayed.  When we got to New York,  I along with several other passengers, had missed our flight.  The next one didn't leave until the next morning.  I had no way to even contact  my husband.

When we left the airport for the hotel  several things  happened that are burned into my memory.

The cab drive...
The cab driver was rather pushy and wanted to take me out to "show me New York".  I was so glad I was in a large cab with other passengers!
not the real ladies :-}

The promise...
Daddy, bless his heart, had met two older German ladies who were on the same flight.  He had them promise to  look out for me, only one problem they didn't speak English. So, in the midst of trying to help them understand why we had to go to the hotel, and ward off this offensive driver, a piece of my luggage disappeared.

The man with the hat...
As I stood in the lobby of the hotel I finally broke down and started to cry.  A well dressed gentleman with a hat no less, walked up to me.  The words he told me, are words I will never forget " I have been watching you, you are doing a great job,  I will find your luggage and you will be okay"  The words seemed strange at the time yet comforting. A few minutes later he walked in with my luggage.  It was under a seat in the cab, but it had been gone through.

 The roommate...
I had met another young woman  who was going to meet her future husband who was also in the army.  Ok, it was in retrospect, rather foolish but we had decided we would share a room rather than be alone.  About 2 in the morning the phone rang.  It was a prank call, I believe it was the cab driver. He called me by name and was very lewd .  At that point I was VERY thankful I wasn't alone.

Next morning we got on our flight an landed in Germany.  My wonderful husband was there to meet me but this girls future husband wasn't.  I had already taken her name to stay in touch and knew the name of who she was meeting. My husband offered to make calls to find him but she assured him she would be fine.  A couple of weeks went by and I tried to call her.  Unable to find her, I tried contacting the soldier.  No one knew of him or had ever had anyone by that name on the base.  I never found her and still wonder to this day if she was an angel sent to watch over me.

God is always watching over us.  Sometimes he allows us a peak into the Spiritual world he has in place around us to help us know we are doing something right or to comfort us in times of stress.
There are no accidents when God is at work.

I pray this story helps you become aware of the angels around you today.

Blessings, Debbie

All your needs

Phillipians 4:19    And my God will meet all of your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

Several years ago my son and his wife had been doing some repair work on some plumbing that was on the outside of their home.  As all projects go, we know that additional problems seem to crop up and the work seems to become more complicated and costly.

They realized that the water problem was more extensive and had to call in a plumbing company.  The water main from their home to the street needed to be totally replaced. The city said it originated on their property so it was their responsibility.  The cost was $3,500.00. They were new homeowners and did not have enough to cover the cost.

They had become friends with a couple a few houses away, our Son had ministered with the husband who had just recently passed away.  The day after the estimate came, the  neighbors wife knocked on their door.

"Hi, she says,  God has been speaking to me the last few days and He told me to bring you this CHECK". She said I have no idea why but here it is.  $3,500.00.

I love the way God brings those people into our lives who act as His messengers. NOT AN ACCIDENT.

Praying this little story lifts your day.

Not Accidentally #3-Rain Rain

She was about 4 and so excited.

We were going to a strawberry patch to pick strawberries.

The farms were about an hour away from Tampa where we lived.
This was before the days of google weather maps so you just had to hope the weather would cooperate.
As we drove the skies began to darken, not a good sign for getting in the fields.
Then it started raining. Pouring cats and dogs!
As we tried to explain to our daughter we might not be able to get in the fields to pick, they would probably be too muddy. But oh the faith of a child.  She said "well, let's just pray."

She said her sweet, faith filled prayer.  I don't remember the words but something like this...

"Dear God,
We really want to pick strawberries.
Please help the rain go away.
Thank you, Amen"

So be it Dear Lord....
But...
Oh it just continued to rain and rain...

We found the sign and turned down the road to the fields, and the strangest thing we saw blue skies ahead.

We walked up to the barn to see if the fields were too wet to pick and were handed the baskets.  The farmer said nope, go right ahead, it hasn't rained here.

But as we picked we could SEE the rain, all around the fields, ALL four sides.

Coincidence? No this was not Accidental
It was a miracle for a four year old who had faith that her God cared even about strawberries.

May you be inspired to believe like a child.
Blessings, Debbie

Not Accidentally #2 - A vision at 2:55 in the morning

2nd Corinthians 1: 4 He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.

It's been many years ago that I had this vision. My husband was the director of a paramedic unit. He had many employees and this story is about one of them.

It was 2:55 in the wee hours of the morning. I woke up abruptly to a dark, eerie presence. I jumped out of bed and immediately went to my knees to pray. I prayed for about 20 minutes. I looked at the clock and it was 3:20. The room was as bright as the sun and a peaceful beautiful feeling came over me. I layed back down knowing I had obeyed God.

I had no idea who or what I had prayed for. After my husband got to work I called him and asked him if anything had happened over the night. He said as a matter of fact, one of his employees had committed suicide.

I asked him if he had any details and he had none at the moment. He called back later and said that after the autopsy had been performed they had come to a few conclusions. He used a gun and the bullet entered his body at 2:55 but he did not die until 3:20. This sent me reeling---OH MY GOD -GOD had used me to intercede for him. The times we're exact. We came to the conclusion immediatley that he had plenty of time to TALK TO GOD.

There were only a handful of people who worked for by husband who even went to church. God gave this vision to someone who would be able to relay this to his parents. At the funeral my husband told his parents about my vision and it greatly comforted them.

God can use his children if we have the willingness to obey without questioning why. There is no way in my mind that this could have been a coinsidence. God does NOTHING by accident.

I have thanked Jesus for this vision so many times and I pray this will confirm to you that God can make a way in any situation.
