Schwetzingen Castle
She toddled around and went to the stove and put both hands flat on the side. I still cringe when I think of it, as you might have just done.
The initial scream was horrific my Our hearts dropped when we saw her beautiful little hands immediately blister. She cried herself to sleep and we prayed as we rushed home.
Being young and uniformed we just let our sweetie sleep when we got home.
When she woke up she seemed to not be in any pain. She was her usual smiling and playful little girl. Every time she fell or picked up a toy we cringed but she just went on as if noting was wrong. The blisters lasted about 2 weeks and she never cried. She seemed to not even know they were there. I cared for them and kept them clean and
remarkably they didn't leave a single mark.
Today those beautiful hands use touch every day not only with her family but in her calling.
She is a third level neo-natle nurse.
A Miracle Yes! But even in those times that they are obviously a miracle some would say it was just not as bad as it looked or that is was just accidental...
Blessings, Debbie

Oh, but you've touched me! The "rest of the story" ... that your "K" is now a nurse, gave me chill-bumps!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful story -- a miracle. Not just the lack of scarring but the lack of pain she had.

ReplyDeleteYes I did cringe when I read this...poor little darling. Did you know about cold cooking flour and burns?? Keep cooking flour in the fridge and apply immediatly after a burn pack it on and wrap. No pain and no scars.. Amazing. Lovely to meet you three sisters.. I am the youngest of three also. My eldest sister Bev is also an R.N. then there is Janiece who is a retired office worker and myself.. We have a famous place in the Blue Mountains of Australia with three huge shapes that have been named The Three Sisters. They are at Eccho Valley. Look them up on the net.. We used to laugh and say, "There we are!" Beverley Janiece and Crystal..LOL Blessings to you all. xx
